Ziggy is an alpha personality – a little dog with a big personality.  He is a wonderful pup with so much potential!  We think with the proper direction he might even be a stellar agility dog because he shows a great ability to focus. He will do best with an experienced, confident owner who will be a strong pack leader so Ziggy doesn’t think he needs to be in charge.  He will test you, but once he is convinced that you are in charge, he’s very obedient.  He will challenge other dogs (especially if there is a fence between them), but will stand down when consistently corrected.  Once he makes friends with another dog, the challenges stop.  In his foster home, he plays well in groups of 7 – 8 dogs.

Ziggy has nice house manners and he is always the pup that sits quietly waiting for his dinner.  He is a very smart boy and his new family needs to be pretty clever to stay a step ahead of him!  He is not a good choice for first time pet owners and will do best with a family with terrier/active dog experience.

If you think Ziggy might be the perfect pup for you, please go to www.allamericanmuttrescue.org, click on Forms/Application and complete your adoption application online.   Please review our adoption process at http://www.allamericanmuttrescue.org/info/adoption and contact us if you have questions about the process.

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your reference checks are completed and your application is tentatively approved, we will schedule a home visit and a meet-and-greet to see if Ziggy picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption contract to be signed and a requested adoption donation.

Please feel free to email [email protected] if you have additional questions.
